Miami Florida Tourist Information and Travel Guide
South Beach (SoBe) is one of three main districts that make-up Miami Beach. The other two are Mid Beach and North Beach.
The South Beach district is known for its white sandy beach and unique 1920s Art Deco architecture. It is a world-famous entertainment area with hundreds of nightclubs and restaurants.
South Beach runs between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic ocean and also includes the barrier islands. Its development dates back to the 1910s.
Ocean Drive is the road that runs along the Atlantic coast in South Beach where many lovely Art Deco buildings can be found.
Other interesting streets for tourists in SoBe are Washington Avenue, Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road.
South Beach is home to some 40,000 residents. The number of local residents is dwarfed, however, by the multitude of tourists that visit SoBe each year.
