The metro system in Miami Florida is called the Miami Metrorail. It has two lines (Green Line and Orange Line) with a total of 23 stations.
The Metrorail system is great for tourists arriving at Miami International Airport (MIA). They can catch a Metrorail train from the Tri-Rail station that is connected to at MIA terminal building.
The Metrorail Green Line connects Palmetto in northeastern Miami to the city centre and then south to the Dadeland South station.
The Metrorail Orange Line Connects Miami Airport to the city centre and follows the same route to Dadeland South.
In downtown Miami, passengers can transfer from the Metrorail system to the Metromover system which operates in downtown core.
The Miami Metrorail system was launched in 1984.
